Improving your physical and mental health
Engaging in physical activity is a great way to improve both your physical and mental health. Keeping active also helps to prevent several long-term conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels. It can also help to reduce anxiety and improve ones mental wellbeing. Below we have two different methods of how to start your journey in physically getting more active.
Health Walks
If you are looking to improve your physical health, there are plenty of health walks available locally to help you get this journey started. These are short, volunteer led, friendly walks done in groups.

Active Health Referral
The Active Health project supports individuals to become more active to improve their health and wellbeing. They provide a 1:1 service where a link worker listens to your concerns regarding your health. During a one-hour appointment they will discuss what activities are available in your area, what activities would be beneficial to you and how to incorporate them into your daily life. Note – this service is provided out with the NHS.
