We would like to advise our patients of the situation this year with FLU VACCINATIONS.

All our vaccinations are being supplied in batches and we are unlikely to have the numbers we need until the end of October. Because of this we have been unable to fix a date for our flu clinic, but we expect it to be early in November.

For this reason you will not receive your Flu Invite letter until late October, so we would ask that you did not phone the surgery in the meantime as we will be unable to give you a date for the flu clinic until it becomes clearer when our vaccinations will arrive.

Thank you for your patience.

The Doctors at Grantown Medical Practice

How to see the doctor:

Appointments may be made either by calling into the surgery or by telephoning (01479) 872484. Urgent cases are seen on the day when this is appropriate. We aim to offer an appointment with a healthcare clinician within 48 hours, but if you wish to see a specific GP, you may need to book further in advance.

Each appointment slot is allocated 10 minutes – please ask for a double or triple appointment if you feel this may be necessary. Details of individual doctor’s availability may be obtained at reception and may be altered to cope with demand.

Our Nurses are available at the following times:

  • Nurse Practitioner - 09:00 - 13:00 and 14:00 - 18:00 Monday to Thursday, 09:00 to 13:00 on Friday.
  • Practice Nurses - Monday to Thursday  08:30 to 17:00
  • Health Care Assistant - 08:30 - 16:30  Tuesday to Friday
  • Phlebotomist - 08:30 - 12:30 Monday to Friday

Telephone Advice:

If you require urgent advice the Emergency Doctor OR Nurse Practitioner will speak to you as soon as possible. For less urgent matters or if you require advice from your own doctor, the receptionist will note your telephone number and the doctor will respond as soon as s/he can.

Wherever possible please give us as much notice as you can if you cannot attend an appointment in order for the slot to be given to someone else. We can now send you a text message reminder of your doctor or nurse appointment. If you would like to make use of this facility please ensure we have mobile phone number for you in our system.
